NAKAFEERO ROSE TITUS SSUKA, A SERVANT LEADER APPOINTED ON MUNICIPAL EXECUTIVE

Nakafeero Rose Titus Ssuka representing Najjeera -Busibante at Kira Municipal Council (on NUP ticket) where she has been appointed to be the Executive Secretary for Health & Education is married to Mr. Ssuka with whom they are having five children.

She's a graduate holding a bachelor's degree in computer science from Kampala International University. 

New in active politics Ssuka as she's most known was much engaged in advocacy for women economic empowerment all her life and through that effort together with other community members came up with an idea to start an association -Bakyala Kwagalana based on Najjeera B with an aim of encouraging women to save & invest especially in land acquisition & education of children especially for the single mothers, an idea which has yielded a number of fruit. Her contributions in the association made her a household name & in the political wave of 2020 she got pushed by members to join active politics to serve them & that support made her to swim over to victory joining the Municipal Council where it was unavoidable for Mayor Mutebi to work with her & so appointed her to spice up his Executive which was dominated by people who had been in active politics for a while.

Appointing her for that responsibility Mute I said that even though she was new in active politics her devotion for working for the common person established her as a *Woman of the people* & working with her is working directly with the very people his leadership is focusing on to serve.

Even after joining active politics Ssuka continued with her advocacy campaigns & on top of Najjera Bakyala Kwagalana she came up with an initiative called Muwala Najjera focussing at securing bursaries & scholastics for girls within Najjera Busibante & Bulabira which she says that it has supported many needy girls.

On realizing that parents were focusing on maturing girls while leaving boys unattended to Ssuka, a mentor of school going children on how to live a healthy & productive life went ahead to start focusing on the boy child too. She says that there is an increasing rate of domestic violence but all rights defender look at women yet in one way or the other many men are victims of the same too.

'men are running away from their homes and responsibilities and it's becoming a new normal' she says adding that, to make the matter worse even in the settled families parents are only protective of their daughters, nurturing them appropriately leaving out boys and at the end the well groomed girls get married to wild boys who were completely neglected, leaving marriage institution at stake. 

Both fellow Councilors & Technical staff at Kira say that Ssuka is a servant leader whose interests are in the wellbeing of every person regardless of status
